Replace Your Washing Machine and Qualify for a Rebate

City of Austin Water Conservation WashWise Rebate Program

Two-part Rebate Available to Austin Residents & Businesses

The City of Austin offers water conservation rebates to businesses and consumers who replace their clothes washers with high efficiency models. The two-part rebate includes up to a $100 water rebate along with a $50 energy rebate. In addition to qualifying for rebates, Austin residents will also reduce their utility bills by reducing water consumption and energy use.

Certain criteria must be met to qualify for both the water rebate and energy rebate. For instance, consumers who have an electric water heater must have Austin Energy service to be eligible for the energy rebate. Alternatively, consumers who have a gas water heater must have Texas Gas Service and be within the Austin city limits. Check your Texas Gas Service bill for the rate code: I/S Res to be sure.

The rebate only applies to clothes washers that are in service for a minimum of five years. You will not qualify for another rebate if you replace your washing machine before that time.

In order to qualify for the water rebate, consumers must receive water from Austin Water Utility. Find out which high efficiency washing machines qualify for the rebate program on the Water Conservation website.
